“True Born African” Screening Party

It has been 2 years since Winston “Flames” Jarrett and I set out on the quest to make a documentary about his life. The journey has brought me a lot closer to him and his wife Patsy, it’s also taken me to Jamaica to see the places Winston grew up and meet some of his old friends.

This October, we’ll finally have something to share with the rest of the world. This is not the completed film, but we’ll be screening 6 clips each around 20 minutes in length. We’d like to share these with an audience and hear their reactions. This feedback will help us make a better film.

The party takes place from 6PM until Midnight on Thursday, October 18th, at the Outlander Pub in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. We’ll screen the six clips with a DJ playing classic Flames tunes during the breaks. We’ll also have a Q&A session with Winston, a Q&A session with the filmmaker, and we’ll take some time to honor our Kickstarter backers and to raffle door prizes. We’d love to have you there.
